A new superyacht dubbed Iron Man made its debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2015 last week. Built by renowned Italian shipyard Benetti, its the second superyacht in the newly formed Fast Displacement Class and was preceded by Cheers 46, internally known as Veloce 40, last year.
Superyacht Iron Man, internally known as Vivace 125, was launched earlier in June this year before its public debut at the festival last week. Just like the name suggests, the superyacht is heavily inspired by Marvel’s fictional character Iron Man. The young owner is a huge fan of Tony Stark’s love for technology and wanted the same in his yacht.
The interior design work was commissioned to UK design firm Redman Whitely Dixon who managed to bring in a mix of the latest technology onboard the yacht. In additional to the technology, they created an interior theme with cues that mirror Iron Man’s style. The ceiling is finished in black and white, there is an extensive use of grey wood and dark glass on various elements but it’s the crystal dining table that tops its all.
Superyacht Iron Man is propelled by an Azipull Rolls-Royce AZP65C assisted by two MTU 16V 2000 M94s rated at 2600 hp each. All that enables it to achieve a maximum speed of 22 knots and a cruising speed of 17 knots. Furthermore, while cruising at 12 knots the yacht has a range of 1250 nautical miles.
Finally, the beautiful exterior was designed by Stefano Righini who merged it with the tri-deck layout that accommodates four guest cabins and 1 owner’s cabin. Needless say that the yacht will certainly acquire several awards in the next months for its exceptional styling in and out. Benetti has already won the Showboats International Magazine “Shipyard Number 1″ award six times in a row.
